For the first time in history, the general public will be able to watch an NHL game – live in VR.
Over a series of 6 consecutive nights, starting with this game between the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks, hockey fans in Canada (and maybe elsewhere?) will get the opportunity to experience a 3-camera live VR hockey broadcast, all thanks to a promotion by Molson Canadian in partnership with Sportsnet. Buyers of specially marked cases of beer will get a free VR headset and PIN code, to access an app from the App Store or Google Play.
